Bon appétit Mr. Tyson!

After giving a review of Tyson vs. Holyfield I, I will now introduce the second fight of them which is the most popular box-fight in the last twenty years. The Fees for the fight were more than 100 Million $ (Tyson 30M$; Holyfield 35M$ and Pay-Per-View fees of 50M§). But the fight from June 1997 achieved his popularity not because of these high fees that were payed or because of the great boxing of both fighters, but because of a moment that everyone of you has heard of…

The fight

After the sensational victory of Evander Holyfield in the last fight only a few months ago the current event excited even more people. It was interesting to see if the great performance of Holyfield was only an exception or if he really is the better fighter of these two big names in the business. Read more »

Review of Klitschko vs. Chagaev

Posted in reviews with tags , , on June 23, 2009 by Viktor

I know that the box-sport exists of more than the heavyweight or the Klitschko brothers but I think many of you have seen the fight on this saturday and so I want to discuss the event.

short flashback

Maybe the best thing about the fight was already happened before the main event has started: the crowd in the Arena AufSchalke was so incredible and impressive with more than 60.000 people, the largest number since Max Schmelling knocked out Adolf Heuser in front of 70,000 people in Stuttgart in 1939, so that both boxers stood under a high pressure. crown princes of the heavyweight

Except of such fights like on the next Saturday between Ruslan Chagaev and Wladimir Klitschko the heavyweight is seen like problem child of boxing because of no competition. The Klitschkos are the Kings of the heavyweight but their victories aren’t really appreciated in the US because their fights are too one-sided and their opponents are to weak.

This is a fact which I not really agree. In my opinion there were still some very interesting heavyweight fights in the past. Additionally it is not sure that there won’t be any strong opponents in the future.  For those of you who agree to the fact that the heavyweight has lost his interest I will introduce you some very interesting fighters who will be a match for the Klitschkos in the future. Everybody who is interested in any kind of sports has a favorite team, player and fighter or in music there is a favorite band. That is what makes a sport interesting. Otherwise there wouldn’t be such a community spirit and sports wouldn’t be the most important minor matter in the world.

I wrote a lot about box events which interest me or about mentionable fighters but in this case I want to introduce my favorite box fighters who make this sport such exciting to me.

My biggest idols are the Klitschko brothers. Read more »

The best Lucky Punches

Posted in personal touch with tags , , on May 25, 2009 by Viktor

When I thought about a title for my blog, which should deal with the box-sport, I immediately thought about “Lucky Punch”. The reason for this decision is the issue that a Lucky Punch is the most exciting and most favorite ending of a box fight. It reminds me of a battle “David vs. Goliath” because the person who wins by a Lucky Punch is usually the weaker fighter.

Therefore I want to introduce this kind of finishing a battle and I will give you my personal top three Lucky Punches. Read more »
